Perez Hilton – He’s Not My Spokesman, Really!

Is anyone else sick of Perez Hilton?  I mean, he’s just a blogger.  Now he’s found his own fame.  Sure, we wouldn’t have had the drama and fun of outing Carrie Prejean as an opportunistic glamour-girl wannabe, but still.

Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, continues to flout his inanity in front of everyone – making himself and more importantly, our community at large look like fools.

The event was a recent altercation with Black Eyed Peas lead singer will.i.am at a Toronto nightclub.  Here’s an amusing video summarizing, in Hilton’s own words, what went down.  If you want a more level synopsis, go here.

Dude, your 15 minutes is up.

  1. I have to disagree with you on this. I’m a regular reader and Perez fan. (I do have to grant you this, even I couldn’t watch the whole sniveling video. Too much drama for this dyke.)

The guy who tried to threaten and intimidate him into NOT writing anything about his band is a thug and should be charged with racketeering. I’m sure you can relate.

When he tossed the word, faggot, he chose to use a word that most certainly has been used against him, in the most hurtful ways, throughout his life. He was trying to deflect a verbal assault, in a extremely volatile situation, by hurling what he knows to be the most horrific label that you can use in our homophobic culture. If anyone has the right to use words of that nature, it is those of us who have had them used against us.

He has since apologized for using the word. And, I don’t worry about him making me look like a fool. I do that all by myself.

    But I do love YOU!!

    best regards!

    • You know I love you, my friend, but we will have to disagree – he is a blight on the community with his continual antics. But, yes, the asshat who put his hands on Hilton is a thug and should be punished.

  2. I don’t recall Perez ever suggesting he was the official voice of the GLBT community. He certainly does not represent my voice. However, I respect his right to vent about issues/opinions/actions that in his opinion is blatant discrimination or offensive to the GLBT community.

    • Whatever. He is a visible and loud GLBT person who makes an ass of himself at every turn and DOES NOT help the community by doing so.
